2. District Sericulture Office & Photograph of Staff

d) Activities :- District Sericulture Office look after all Sericulture activities in the District, implementing Plan Scheme, CSS, NLUP, and other related activities, committees and other District level activities under District Commissioner Champhai, Administration of all centre and all Developmental activities ofSericulture in the District.

3. Sericulture Extension Officer Office; Khawzawl.

c) Activities :-Sericulture Extension Officer’s Office Khawzawl is working under and in coordination with the District Sericulture Office Champhai, within its jurisdiction. It is working to look after some Village Level Circles within its Division, in which Technical personels are working in every circles respectively. Due to the insufficiency of the Technical and permanent staff, the technical staff working in the Office are at the same time responsible for the Circles as well.

SEED FARMS:

There are 2 (two) Government Farms namely Mulberry Seed Farm Kananveng, andTasar seed Farm,Tlangsam, functioning for the production of their respective healthy Seed Cocoons as follows :-

A. Government Mulberry Seed Farm, Kanaan,

Location : Kanan, Champhai.Mizoram.

Year of Establishment : 1974.

Area of Farm : 25 Acres.

Activities :- The Govt. Mulberry Seed Farm, Champhai is responsible for

producing quality Mulberry Seed Cocoons.

B. GovernmentTasar Seed Farm, Tlangsam.

Location : Tlangsam, Champhai.

Year of Establishment : 1976

Area of Farm : 20 acres.

g) Activities :- The Govt. Tasar Seed Farm, Tlangsam is responsible for conducting TasarSilworm rearing for the production of Tasar Seeds. MSF Tlangsam is the only Farm which is producing Tasar Seed all over Mizoram.Therefore this Farm has to undergo Every steps of Grainages of Tasar Silkworms. The seeds produced here are also distributed around here and reared by the Tasarprivate Farmers nearby.

4. Village Circles

Under Champhai District all Sericulture activities of private farmers, Extension and Supervision etc. are supervised through village circles. At present 6 such village circles are functioning smoothly in spite of the insufficiency of the technical staff for which some of them need to look after a couple of circles. Those circles with Villages and circle incharges are as shown in the folowings.

iii) KhuanglengCircle : Khuangleng, Dungtlang, Khawbung, Vaphai.

Circle inchage :- Pu Roluahpuia, Sericulture Demonstrator.
